A good friend of mine approached me and asked for a prediction. It’s difficult to refuse a friend, also I had a computer handy, so I cast a Qi Men Dun Jia chart.

However, the fact that his stem, Yi (乙), is in Emptiness indicates that he no longer has feelings for her.
Friend: “Yes, he quit his job to pursue a Ph.D. I really am still attached to him, and he was determined to break up."
"Okay, can you also take a look at my own job search?”
Me: “You’re running around and bustling about everywhere right now, but nothing is coming of your job search yet. To find a position, you need to spend money, but you don’t have many spare funds at the moment.”
Master’s Explanation: Ren (壬) in the Heaven Plate is in the ‘Traveling Horse’ (马星) palace, which indicates constant travel. Meanwhile, the ‘Officer’ phase for Ren (壬), which symbolizes a job, is in the 6th palace and controls the Day Stem — hence the lack of results. In the ‘Officer’ palace, there is also the Wu (戊) stem, symbolizing money, which points to the need for a financial investment to find a job. However, Wu (戊) falls into the ‘Tomb’ (入墓), which means there are no available funds for this purpose.
Friend: “Yes, that’s exactly right."
"And what can you tell me about my new boyfriend?”
Commentary: 🤦♂️ She loves one guy but is dating another — she’s completely tangled up… It’s no wonder the Day Stem has the Ren-Xin (壬辛) structure: “Flying Snakes Entwined.”
Me: “Your relationship is a secret. But he also has someone else he is close to. He’s well-educated, but deep down, he’s a complete asshole”
Her: “You’re right, I already know about that 😖”
Commentary: Unfortunately, the master does not explain this or the subsequent deductions. But we can try to reconstruct them…
Most likely, the acting spirit for the new boyfriend is Ding 丁, the stem that combines with the Day Stem. The palace where Ding is on the Earth Plate characterizes his background: the Tian Xin (天心) Star represents the good education the master mentioned, and the Liu He (六合) Deity represents the marriage he is likely in.
On the Heaven Plate, the Ding (丁) stem is in Emptiness, which means his status as a ‘boyfriend’ is essentially a sham; it’s like he is there in theory (there’s Heavenly Qi), but in reality, he’s married or in another relationship (there’s no Earthly Qi, so he can’t be relied upon). The Tai Yin (太陰) Deity can be interpreted as the relationship not being public, and its combination with the Tian Peng (天蓬) Star and the Yi (乙) beneath the guy’s stem symbolizes his current behavior, which the master spoke of so unflatteringly.
I continued: “The house you live in doesn’t face the sun. The sunlight comes in through the windows from the west.”
Commentary: According to the Small Triad Method, which the master often uses, the querent’s house is symbolized by the Earth Plate stem under the Day’s Heaven Stem. This is Xin (辛). Therefore, I can assume that the master draws these conclusions from the symbolism of the Xin stem itself and the 9th palace, where it is located along with the Sheng Men (生門) / Life Door, which points to a living space.
Her: “How could you see that too? That’s exactly how it is where I live.”
She asked again: “I’m currently asking someone to help me with a matter. Do you think he’ll be able to help me?”
Me: “This person is afraid of his wife, he has a round head and a bald spot on top. He lives to the west of your house. If you go to him, he will help.”
Her: “That’s all correct!”
Commentary: Likely, for this person, the master looked at the Hour Stem, Xin (辛). The Bing (丙) stem beneath it symbolizes a round face; Xin above it is like something ‘scorched’ = thinning hair (baldness could also be indicated by the Li palace, representing the head, in combination with the Tian Fu (天輔) Star). According to the Small Triad Method, the Bing (丙) beneath it also represents his wife, whom he fears because Bing as Fire controls Xin as Metal. The Xin stem also indicates that he lives to the west.
The favorable elements in the Hour palace and the fact that the Xin on the Earth Plate in the querent’s house produces her according to the Wu Xing (Five Elements) was likely interpreted by the master as the possibility of a positive outcome. However, judging by the interaction of the palaces, the outcome of approaching this person will likely be more beneficial to him than to the querent.
